THREE NEW MEMBERS FOR CONFERENCE CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE

Three more prominent venues have joined Conference Centres of Excellence, the UK’s leading consortium of specialist conference and meetings providers. They are the RBS Williams F1 Conference Centre in Oxfordshire; Savoy Place in central London; and Austin Court in Birmingham.

The RBS Williams F1 Centre is a modern, purpose built conference venue located at the headquarters of the Williams Formula One racing team on a 40 acre site in Grove, near Wantage. It has a total of 10 highly flexible and fully equipped conference rooms, with capacity for up to 200 delegates. The facility houses the Williams Grand Prix collection of 40 historic racing cars.

“CCE membership provides a valuable and exclusive mark of recognition for us,” commented Head of Sales and Marketing Hazel Gomm: “It will also provide a range of additional business opportunities and an excellent chance to network.”

Savoy Place and Austin Court are both owned by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Savoy Place, the IET’s headquarters, is situated close to the Savoy Hotel, with uninterrupted views of the River Thames. A unique and historic building completed in 1889, it has 21 conference and meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 200, and a 400 seat theatre.  Austin Court is in the heart of Birmingham’s prestigious exhibition and conference area, close to Symphony Hall, the NIA and the ICC. A Grade II listed building, it has 12 conference and meeting rooms and a 150 capacity theatre.

“CCE represents the pinnacle for specialist conference providers,” commented Anna Clover, the IET’s Facilities Manager: “Our membership confirms our belief that we are achieving exceptional standards of facility and service, and will help ensure we maintain that lead.”

CCE members include more than 30 of the country’s best known venues, all offering dedicated conference facilities and services. Before joining, venues have to meet stringent criteria in terms of facilities, accommodation and customer care. “Our latest members are all particularly distinguished by their strong commitment to the latest meetings technology and the strength of their on site support teams,” said CCE Chair Kay England: “They have exceptional records of hosting effective and memorable events, and they further enhance our offering to clients.”

CCE provides a free, focused venue-finding service, providing guidance on the geographical location of venues and on facilities, availability and price for each member; the service can also arrange visits. It can be contacted on 0845 230 1414, email info@cceonline.co.uk. The consortium’s website www.cceonline.co.uk includes extensive information on all members.
