CONFERENCE CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE

Britain's leading consortium of dedicated specialist conference and training venues

NCSL CENTRE BECOMES LATEST CCE MEMBER

Press Release 17 July 2006

Nottingham’s innovative NCSL Learning and Conference Centre has been accepted as the latest member of Conference Centres of Excellence, the UK’s leading consortium of dedicated meeting and conference venues.

Opened in 2002, and set in a tranquil, lakeside location, the award-winning Centre has 90 ensuite bedrooms, 17 conference rooms and 15 syndicate rooms, with two video conferencing suites. Meeting facilities incorporate the latest audio-visual and IT equipment, and can accommodate up to 250 delegates. The venue has a lakeside restaurant and bar, with hospitality services provided by Sodexho.

“The NCSL Centre is a truly distinctive, purpose built venue and an excellent addition to our portfolio,” said CCE Chair Kay England. “It underlines the unique proposition we offer to organisers, not only in terms of our range of venues, but also the quality of service, focused support and sheer character that each of them provides.”

Strengthening CCE’s presence in the East Midlands still further, the NCSL Centre is the latest example of CCE’s determination to provide comprehensive national coverage while sustaining the highest standards of dedicated provision. Now in its fifteenth year, it has 40 members, including many of the country’s best known specialist residential conference and meeting providers.

CCE and its member venues work together to promote the concept of dedicated centres as the optimum solution for conferences and meetings. The consortium has a policy of carefully controlled expansion: before acceptance into membership, venues have to meet stringent criteria in terms of facilities, accommodation and customer care. On average, only one out of every four venues that apply for membership meets the required standards.

CCE provides a free, focused venue-finding service for corporate clients and agencies, providing single-source guidance on facilities, availability and price for each member venue; it also arranges visits.
