Conference Centres of Excellence - the marketing consortium of leading dedicated conference providers - has accepted three further venues into membership.
The latest members are Devonport House, Greenwich; HTS Lydiard Park, near Swindon; and The Wellcome Trust Conference Centre, Hinxton, near Cambridge. CCE membership now totals 37 of the UK's most respected conference locations.
To achieve CCE membership, each venue has had to meet the consortium's own stringent, audited quality standards in terms of conference and support facilities, accommodation and customer care. They are the most demanding standards within the conference industry -- on average, only one out of every four venues that apply for membership meets the required standards.
"Our three latest members are all outstanding locations with distinctive heritages matched by exceptional levels of facility and service," said CCE Chairman Chris Clarke: "They represent very significant additions to our portfolio."
Devonport House Conference Centre ( www.devonport-isc.co.uk ) is part of the historic World Heritage Site of Maritime Greenwich in London. It has 94 bedrooms, 12 main training and meeting rooms, and a further 10 syndicate rooms. It is part of the Initial Style Group.
HTS Lydiard Park ( www.hts-centres.com ) is an 18th century mansion house overlooking 140 acres of parkland in Lydiard Tregoze, near Swindon. It has 37 bedrooms, and a suite of three lecture rooms and 11 syndicate rooms, all recently comprehensively refurbished.
The Wellcome Trust Conference Centre ( www.wtconference.org.uk ) is a purpose-built venue set in a 55 acre riverside estate in Hinxton near Cambridge. It has 72 bedrooms and ten conference rooms, including a 300 seat auditorium and a dedicated IT training room.
CCE's primary services to member venues include providing a focused venue-finding service for corporate clients and agencies, and promoting the concept of dedicated centres as the optimum solution for conferences and meetings.
"We look forward to helping these new members to access new areas of business and share in multi-venue contracts," added Chris Clarke: "They in turn will enhance our ability to find the best solutions for our customers."
