Members of the Conference Centres of Excellence consortium achieved outstanding success at the recent M&IT awards in London, one of the highlights of the conference industry year.
In a spectacular achievement, members provide all four finalists in the ‘Best management training venue’ category, the term the organisers use for specialist residential venues. The Moller Centre won gold, with Warwick Conferences' Scarman House taking silver and Conference Aston winning the bronze. Ashridge was the other finalist.
imago at Burleigh Court scooped the 'Best disabled services' award, which was being sponsored by Conference Centres of Excellence for the fourth year in succession. The Royal College of Physicians received a special award from BDRC, the industry market research organisation, as ‘No 1 UK Venue 2008.’
Other notable achievements included the Warwick Conference Park, home to three CCE member venues, wining gold in the 'best academic venue' category, with Conference Aston taking bronze. Conference Aston completed its haul of awards with a silver in the ‘Best conference and banqueting staff’ category, while Warwick’s Scarman House achieved silver in the ‘Best value for money conference venue’ award. The RBS Williams FI Conference Centre was a finalist in the ‘Best UK conference centre’ award.
“It’s a performance that once again underlines the all-round strength of our membership,” commented Conference Centres of Excellence Executive Director Anthony Lishman.
