ALL ROUND SUCCESS FOR CCE VENUES
Members of the Conference Centres of Excellence consortium have won significant recent national awards, underlining the strength of the specialist venues concept.
Most recently, The Møller Centre in Cambridge scooped the ‘Training Venue of the Year’ award at the national World of Learning event in November. Imago at Burleigh Court in Loughborough took second place, and the other finalists included CCE member Roffey Park in Horsham, Sussex. The awards are based on voting by learning and development specialists around the country.
Shortly before this news, the Meetings Industry Association announced that Woodland Grange Conference Centre in Leamington Spa had clinched the gold standard in AIM, its new quality standard. This means that Conference Centres of Excellence has two of only three venues in the country to achieve gold, with the NCSL Learning and Conference Centre in Nottingham having done so a few weeks before. Progression to gold standard demands exceptionally high levels of facility, customer care and overall management controls.
Conference Centres of Excellence is the UK’s leading UK consortium of specialist conference centres, each of which provides a completely focused working environment. “The latest accolades represent truly sector-leading achievements for the venues involved,” commented Executive Director Anthony Lishman: “They are also a significant testimony to the consortium as a whole, because all our venues share the same stringent standards across all aspects of conference provision.”
Consortium members also achieved significant success in the recent Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) for excellence in marketing. The Wyboston Lakes group, which includes CCE members The Robinson Executive Conference Centre and The Waterfront Conference Centre, took gold in the ‘Best Direct Marketing’ category. Nottingham Conferences, which includes CCE member the East Midlands Conference Centre, took the gold award for ‘Best Print Advertising’.
Conference Centres of Excellence (www.cceonline.co.uk) currently has 36 members, on behalf of which it provides a free venue-finding service for conference organisers. The service can be contacted on 0845 230 1414.
